Dr. Marisa McCarthy serves as the Chief of Exceptional Learning and Related Services for Springfield Public Schools, where they are responsible for overseeing programs, services, and compliance for exceptional learners.  

With 25 years of experience in Exceptional Learning, Dr. McCarthy brings a deep commitment to student success and equity. As the Chief of Exceptional Learning and Related Services, Dr. McCarthy blends instructional leadership, program administration, and regulatory oversight to ensure students receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).  Their efforts directly support the district’s mission to ensure every student is prepared for college, career, and life.
