Back to School 2026 School Start Dates

• Grades 1-12: Monday, August 24, 2026
• Kindergarten: Wednesday, September 2, 2026
• Preschool: Monday, September 14, 2026

Parents and guardians with questions about uniform requirements or school hours should contact their child’s school. Bus stop information will be posted once it becomes available. The Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership is in direct contact with families regarding any differing start dates. 

Back-to-School Community Day - Every school will host its own Back to School Community Day as the first approaches. School-based Community Day provides families with the opportunity to meet their student’s school staff, pick up free backpacks and supplies and learn about resources to help support a successful school year. Schools will reach out directly to their families to share more detailed information about their Community Day plans and schedule.

Summer Eats meal site locations is now available. 

Please note: This is an initial list and locations will be updated weekly throughout the summer. Families are encouraged to check the website regularly for the most current site information, schedules, and updates.

No registration is required. Free meals are available to all children and teens ages 18 and under.
